About this event

10am - 1pm Friday 29th March at Allsorts Toy Library.

10am- Coffee/tea cake and a short, relaxed workshop about gaining skills and confidence to advocate for your child at appointments. You will be able to take away a helpful checklist for use in future meetings/appointments.

11am - Informal discussion about what a Parent Carer Forum is and how you can be involved or gain support from the forum. We will hear from a forum in a neighbouring county about how they work with parent carers in their area.

12pm - Enjoy a delicious buffet lunch from award winning Star Bistro in Cheltenham.

Active Impact is working with local Parent Carer Groups and Contact to develop a new local forum that will be part of the National Network of Parent Carer Forums. We are inviting parents to come along and find out about what a forum can do for them and how they can get involved.

Participation can be as simple as receiving our newsletters and contributing your thoughts and experiences by email, or online. There are also more opportunities to represent local parent carers in joint projects and strategic groups working with the local authority and health services for which reasonable expenses will be paid. We are also looking for people with an interest in joining the steering group which will coordinate and develop the new forum. We value everyone's time and support and look forward to welcoming you to this friendly social event.
